Springwood is a naturist club established in the 1950s near Colchester, Essex. For those of you who are new to naturism, being a naturist does not mean that you never wear clothes, it means that you have an extra freedom not to wear clothes if the weather and circumstances are right. However, ask any naturist and they will tell you that there is far more to naturist life that just this, for many it is the great social life that exists in many naturist clubs, for some the sport is an integral part of being a naturist, for some it is the relaxing environment that a naturist club offers and all while having the added bonus of not having to wear clothes.

Springwood is no exception to this; you will find a large range of members, some who like to keep active and participate in all the sports on offer and some who prefer to relax on the sun lawn and enjoy the sun but they are all very friendly and new members are always made to feel welcome.The club has a number of sports facilities including two miniten courts (miniten is a sport similar to tennis played exclusively in naturist clubs, see the sports page for more information), three petanque courts, a volleyball court, a heated outdoor swimming pool as well as a table tennis table and darts inside the pavilion.
